Discover what Kenya has to offer
Kenya is well known for all the safari parks you will find here. There are more than 50 national parks and a couple private parks you can visit. It is a true paradise for nature lovers. You will find a lot of wild animals here and you can even spot The Big Five. Every park has it’s own character and vibe with different animal and plant species.
Maasai Mara
For example, National Park Maasai Mara is famous for it’s yearly migration of zebras and wildebeests. A spectacular sight! In this same area you will also find the Maasai, a nomad tribe that is well know for their ancient traditions and characteristic colorful clothing and jewelry. It’s also possible to visit a true Maasai village and meet the tribe personally.
National Park Amboseli
Also, National Park Amboseli is an absolute must-see. After Maasai Mara , it is the biggest protected nature reserve in Kenya. It is famous for it’s big elephant herds and is well known as the best location to spot elephants. National Parks Tsavo East and West are highly recommended for the true elephant lovers. ook toplocaties. Deze parken staan bekend om hun ‘rode’ olifanten, als gevolg van de roodgekleurde aarde in deze parken.

“Kenya’s flora and fauna is extremely varied. You will find more than 80 different mammal species and more than 1000 different species of birds here”

Lake Nakuru
In central Kenya you will find Lake Nakuru; a paradise for flamingos and other bird species. This lake – classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO – attracts huge numbers of flamingos due to the abundance of algae. You can also spot white and black rhinos in this park.
Beaches
The real sunbathers can enjoy the many white beaches and clear blue water along the coast. You will also find beautiful locations here for snorkeling, diving or taking a boat trip. You will also find the large port city of Mombasa here, where you can make all kinds of cultural trips. You can safely set aside a few days for this; Mombasa has a lot to offer!
The capital city Nairobi
Nairobi is the capital of Kenya and (in our opinion) not exactly the destination for safari enthusiasts. The city is very busy and crowded. For travelers who like modern high-rise buildings, the city is definitely worth a day visit. There are also a number of museums that are worth a visit. Think of the National Museum or the traditional open-air museum. You will also find the former home of Karen Blixen (writer of Out Of Africa) and the Sheldrick Wildlife elephant sanctuary here.
