The Team

Naftali is the core of our team; it all started with him. He lives in Nairobi and is our guide/driver. With a background in ‘Tours & Travel’ and ‘Tour Guiding Management’, his many years of experience as a guide, and knowledge of the local nature and culture, he will show you the most beautiful sides of Kenya.

The Dutch part of the team takes care of the contacts with the customers and provides the western ‘touch’ of Mianti Safaris.

Ingrid is partly retired and partly working in a Boutique Hotel in Kenya. She came up with the idea to start a safari company. Of course, this didn’t just happen out of the blue. Ingrid had already been on safari with Naftali several times and through her work in the hotel had already been able to get acquainted with Naftali’s expertise and hospitality several times. After her return to the Netherlands she decided, together with Bauke and Margreet, to go for the idea of ​​her own safari company.

Bauke is a dentist in daily life. He got to know Naftali during his first Kenya trip in 2018. During this and the following trip, he and Margreet visited a Maasai tribe near Taveta (near the border with Tanzania) and visited a number of parks.

During the second trip in 2019, the idea arose to purchase a safari car for Mianti Safaris so that you can travel with your own car instead of renting a car. And at the same time taking Mianti Safaris to a higher level. Due to COVID, all plans have been slightly delayed, but since February 2022 the car is ready to be used for our trips.

In September 2022 Bauke and Margreet hope to go to Kenya for the fourth time, this time as a dentist and supporter for the Dutch Dental Care Foundation.

Margreet has now been to Kenya several times with Bauke and is also a photographer. Most of the photos on the website were taken by her.
